“In North America there is a lot that is in the public domain, which has its problems, but at least they are problems we are all enfranchised to work on.”

Here’s What You Can Do

Act locally: track land trades in your area

You can find out about land exchanges in your area by asking your local public land agency to add you to the mailing list for upcoming projects. Each National Forest office and many Bureau of Land Management offices publish and distribute a quarterly list of upcoming projects, including planned land swaps. Find your local office through the government web pages by clicking on the links above, then write or call to be added to the distribution list.

Use our Essential Links page...

Our Essential Links page gives you access to the agencies; the laws, regulations, and internal agency guidelines that govern land trades; the path to the dark corridors of congressional land deals; and... coming soon...more documents that can amplify your understanding of the issue.
